Garmin has taken their popular E-trex Legend and given it a 256 color TFT display and some new features and created the Legend C. The Legend Color has a 12 channel WAAS internal patch antenna for up to 3-meter accuracy.* The Legend C includes the routable Americas Recreational basemap, including major highways, interstates and bigger lakes and rivers and will also accept up to 24 megabytes of downloaded map data from Garmin's line of optional MapSource CD-ROMs including topographic detail, residential street information and points of interest such as restaurants, lodging and attractions. Just add the Mapsource City Select North America software or the Auto Navigation kit and you will be able to get visual turn by turn guidance on this tiny wonder.

Included with the Legend C is a USB interface cable, so map downloads are much faster than traditional handheld GPS. Garmin has improved the battery life for up to 36 hours of use on 2 AA batteries and also added audible alarms for off-course, proximity waypoints, and anchor drag. The operation of the Legend Color could not be any easier as Garmin has updated their operating system to make it easy for everyone to use for hiking, biking, Geocaching, or getting you to you favorite fishing holes. Other features include: storage for 500 waypoints with symbol, 10,000 tracklog points, stopwatch, hunting/fishing calendar, and trip computer. Please note that the e-Trex Legend C is not NMEA compatible.
