The Geko 301 is a small sized little wonder that is perfect for outdoor
adventures like hiking and geocaching, and because it weighs just over
3 oz. it won't weigh you down either. The Geko 301 is waterproof and
it's simple operations make it suitable even for young people. It has
all the features of the Geko 201, plus an electronic compass
and barometric altimeter. You can mark up to 500 locations (called
waypoints) and assign them a name and graphic icon.
You can then navigate to these points using the GoTo function which
will provide bearing and distance to your point. As you move the Geko
will record your track and the "TracBack" function allows to you
retrace your path home. You can even save up to 10 tracks for later
reference. The Geko 301 features Garmin's 12 channel WAAS GPS receiver
for accuracy up to 10 feet*. The High contrast LCD display is also
backlit for nighttime use. The Geko 301 will operate up to 10 hours on
2 "AAA" batteries and other features include support for 16 languages,
built-in games, and PC interface capability (requires cable).
